Change is the Name of the Game

By August 9, 2019Market Report
Two years ago, I had one of those epiphany moments that I’ll never forget…

I was sitting at the Palm Springs airport waiting to board my flight back home to Edmonton. If you haven’t been to that airport before, it’s beautiful and they even have an open roof so you can enjoy the sunshine while you wait to board.

As I was sitting there reading my book, I took a quick look around me and noticed that everyone around me was glued to their smart phones & tablets. That may not shock you, but what surprised me was that these weren’t young adults or teenagers — these were 65+year old seniors! They were locked into these devices and seemed like professionals as they swiped and typed away for the entire duration of their wait.

As a web-developer, I have to consider the tech savviness of the users for the websites that I build. I was always nervous about building website features that older generations might struggle to adopt. However, after this Palm Springs trip, I’ve realized that the world has changed before my eyes. The general population is VERY tech savvy and are much more open to change when it comes to their websites, apps, and tech devices.

“Expect and manage the change”

This realization also made me reflect inwards about how I react to change. Like most, I sometimes resist or get frustrated when change is forced upon me. However, in this digital age, we have to be willing to give change a try before judging it. In addition, the world is changing so quickly (especially when it comes to technology), so it’s important to stay competitive and not get stale with how we do things.

Whether it’s how you interact with the World Wide Web or how you farm your land, exploring new technologies/processes is always a worthwhile venture.

At Agfinity Inc., we look forward to making changes to our website that will enhance your buying/selling experience! Your feedback is greatly valued as we continue to build transformative technology and plow into the future of agriculture.
