The Art of Seeing What is Invisible to Others

A quick update on grain markets and trading opportunities!
The Pint-Sized Agfinity Newsletter!

I’ve been thinking about vision lately. No, not the red superbot in The Avengers movies, but having a vision. And, more specifically, the importance of communicating your vision.

A vision is a picture or idea you have in your mind of yourself or your business, or anything that you desire to happen.  A clear vision helps you pursue dreams and achieve goals; an idea of the future, a strong wish…You feel much more valuable as a person when you set and achieve visions and goals.”   -Julian Burke

I may be a little early to the party, but as I reflect on 2018 and look forward to next year with all its opportunities and challenges, I begin to start crafting my vision for the new year and see how I did over the past year.

Now, specifically talking about business, when was the last time you shared your vision of your farm, grain, cattle, poultry, hog, or bison business with someone else?

I’m not afraid of sharing my vision with Amy, my wife, but over the years have realized its very similar to other activities… She must be in the right mood, otherwise, I get the “that’s great honey, next topic” look. But, when we set time aside to dream and craft vision, it often comes to life. We find that the hot tub and some form of whiskey helps our vision process, but that may not work for everyone!
The next challenge is sharing your vision with others. When the ground hasn’t been prepared, you find yourself walking into a world of insecurities and fears from others, while you’re standing there wondering why they aren’t as excited as you are about your sweet vision.

I say all of this from personal experience. While we are busy doing the work and building our businesses, we think that everyone knows what we are thinking and how hard we are working towards our dreams and visions.  I found out, and please get ready for it, . . . people can’t read your mind!  So, even though you’re doing this for them and their future, they’ll never know unless you let them in on your big vision /secret.  This can all change though. Like I said before, you need a strategy to share vision and, as I’ve found, you need to be brave enough to share it.

This season, I’m taking more time thinking and dreaming about the vision for Agfinity and a way to share it with my team.  I heard somewhere that without vision you and your business are dead in the water.

Hey! We’re here if you want to share your vision with us! We know you have one, but we can’t read your mind. This year I’m planning to share our vision with you and, hopefully, so that our entire team here at Agfinity can communicate it.

To dreaming and crafting vision out loud!
