Introducing . . . Monique Bryldt!

By January 12, 2022Blog

Monique grew up in a small town in Southern Alberta, so you would think she knew a bit about agriculture. Well, she did not. Her father was an operations manager for a gas plant and her mother worked in a bank. She did, however, learn the benefits of growing up in small town. Everyone knows and takes care of everyone. Therefore, when her youngest was born, she and her family moved to Stony Plain. She wanted her kids to experience the same small-town atmosphere that she knew growing up.

Monique was employed in the secretarial and customer service field for years until she decided that she was the best person to raise her kids was her. When she did rejoin the workforce after her youngest started school, she discovered agriculture. She has learned so much about different grain in her years and can execute a conversation with a farmer, buyer, anyone interested in agriculture. She takes pride in helping all clients and providing them with the exceptional customer service. She always has a smile on her face that you will see through the phone when she answers.

She enjoys, going for walks, reading, and spending time with her family.

Buyer Brief – by Joseph Billett

After an anticipated USDA WASDE report today, all commodities are still slipping into the red aside from Soybeans. Canola fell to $1008/MT, nearby canola demand has been slowing, pushing shipments later into the winter and possibly spring. Feed grain bids have been softening as well. High as prices have been many buyers are purchasing just enough to get them through, this has put a lot of stress on buyers especially with shipment delays from snow, cold weather and Covid. Many buyers are anxious to see deliveries while the forecast is predominantly mild across the prairies. On the horizon demand will be a concern and will keep eroding prices, many buyers are feeding straight corn and if they aren’t, they are only buying just enough feed in hopes of prices being more appetizing moving forward. Many buyers are now bidding for March – April, we are quickly filling any nearby opportunities that arise but everyday there seems to be less and less desperation for prompt movement grain at market highs.

Sellers Note: If you have road bans or muddy yards on the menu during seeding, now is the best time to lock in these historical prices before buyers are covered.
