At the time of writing this, with large snow flakes coming down outside the window, it doesn’t seem possible, but just a few weeks ago I was dusting off all the summer activity equipment. The winters may be long, dark and just a little bit cold, so I try to make the most out of the summer time.
Dustiest of all were my golf clubs, nothing exceptional. I had gotten them used for less than $100. I took them out to the driving range, took a few practice swings and loosened up. I’m by no means a scratch golfer, but also far from terrible. What happened next shocked me and certainly the gentleman in the stall next to me. The shot shanked as hard as possible going straight sideways into the protective wooden barrier with an emphatic thunk.
“Wow, that was bad,” I thought as I teed up the next ball. This time I topped it and it barely made it 50 yards. These bad shots continued and I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I was setting up the same as usual and swinging the same, but the results were disastrous. “I should just sell my clubs,” I thought to myself. I got a good deal on them and could probably turn a little profit on it. It would save me time, money and my own sanity. I still had about 60 balls left in my bucket so I thought I might as well finish it off. I put the driver away and took out my irons. After hitting 30 or so I took the driver back out and, what do you know, I could hit the ball again!
Sometimes we have to remember that even if the results are not what we want them to be, if we keep doing the right things to get us to those results, they will come. You can’t score without shooting and you can’t achieve success without persistence and sustained effort.

Pulse acres seem to be taking significant hit going into the 2019 planting season – “Keeping in mind this is the seeding intentions report based on a survey of growers from the beginning of March. It’s as current as the day it was collected,” commented Carl Potts, executive director of Saskatchewan Pulse Growers. – https://www.producer.com/2019/04/most-canadian-pulse-acres-to-decline-in-2019/?
